Tax Efficient Income and Asset Planning

A comprehensive Income and Tax plan examines the lifestyle you want to live throughout retirement and balances the money needed to do that with the income and assets available to you. We believe strongly in covering the 6 key topics in financial planning (Cash Management, Taxes, Insurance, Investments, Retirement, Estate). But your phase of life and particular situation may cause us to prioritize several and deemphasize others.

We prepare and maintain these plans as a part of our relationship with investment management clients.

For those wanting a plan but not yet ready to have us manage your portfolio, we determine a fixed fee based on the complexity of your situation. The result is a detailed plan that is yours to use yourself or choose to have us implement it for you.

Investment Management

Managing a portfolio is a three-pronged effort:
1) Deciding the appropriate allocation to various asset classes and a process for adjusting it as economic and market conditions change.
2) Finding securities that provide investment exposure to those asset classes and have a high probability of giving you incremental returns – then monitoring and making adjustments on-going.
3) Structuring your portfolio to maximize your after-tax return.

We begin all of our Investment Management relationships by creating an Income and Tax plan to guide the design of your investment portfolio. Your plan is then updated periodically and discussed during our annual portfolio reviews.
Your fee will be a percentage of the assets you’ve tasked us to manage for you.

Decision Support

Our clients frequently seek our input on a range of issues connected to their financial lives. We welcome this involvement and encourage clients to let us know about the issues they are considering. Questions like:
– Should we pay off our mortgage?
– How can we help our extended family?
– What is the best way for us to fund our end-of-life care?
– Should we set up a trust in addition to having wills?
– When should we start collecting Social Security?
– Do I need to put one of my kids on my bank account?
